Before you decide

E-commerce logistics and fulfillment blog: frequently asked questions

Where do I start if I want to outsource my online store’s logistics?

With your numbers: orders per month, what each order costs you today (your own time included) and how much space your stock takes up. That tells you whether it pays off and lets you compare quotes. Then ask two or three providers for written prices, see how they work with real data and plan a one-week start.

What data should I prepare before asking a logistics provider for a quote?

Orders per month and in your busiest month, lines and units per order, number of SKUs, approximate product size and weight, how much space your stock takes up (pallets, boxes), sales channels, destinations and return rate. With that data the provider can give you a real price instead of a generic rate card.

Is it hard to switch logistics providers?

Not if it is planned: the outgoing provider prepares your stock counted and with a delivery note, the new one receives and puts it away, and the store is reconnected. The tricky part is the move: do it in a quiet period and do not reconnect the store until the stock is put away in the new warehouse. Beforehand, check whether your contract has a lock-in or notice period.
