A WMS (warehouse management system) is the software that runs the warehouse: where each unit is, which order is picked now and by which route, what is verified, what is counted. For an online store, its provider’s WMS is what turns "trust me" into "see for yourself".

Receive orders from the store and marketplaces within a minute; reserve stock on sale; guide picking by route and verify by barcode; map shipping methods to carrier services; return stock and tracking to the store; log every movement; and show all of it to the client in a portal.
It does not matter who built it if it does the above. What matters is that the provider can change it when you need something (a packaging rule, an alert, a report) without waiting on an external vendor.
The ERP runs the business (purchasing, sales, invoicing, accounting) and knows how much stock you have overall; the WMS runs the warehouse and knows which location each unit is in, which order is being picked and who moved it. They complement each other: the catalogue usually comes from the ERP and the WMS sends back the real stock.
SGA (sistema de gestión de almacenes) is the Spanish name for a WMS: the software that controls a warehouse’s inbounds, locations, picking, dispatch and stock counts. The two terms mean the same thing, and you will see both in software and logistics provider offers in Spain.
You do not need to buy one: you use your logistics provider’s. What you do need is access to it, usually a portal with your stock per SKU, your orders and their status, inbounds, returns and the movement history. Before signing, ask to see it working with real data.
